Gigaclear / full fibre broadband - Andy (18th Sep 2022 10:19:24)
I recently received a flyer from Gigaclear saying that they will soon be starting to install full fibre broadband in Liphook., a process which could take up to a year.
Does anyone have any further knowledge or information about this?
The flyer does give general information but invites you to go on their website to find out more (gigaclear.com/mycommunity), but you cannot do that unless you agree to them having access to and using your data, which I don't want to give.

Is this another one of those eyes rolling to the back of my head moments where you have to get your neighbours to sign up in some sort of broadband pyramid scheme?
Which never actually delivers anything to the people whom failed to research the internet speeds when they buy a house and then post the unjustification of their homes in the middle of nowhere not having the internet speeds of those whom actually live closer thus faster internet hubs that are exchanges and demand an extra 100 billion be spend lifting the property value of their middle of nowhere homes by running optical fibre for 10km and digging roads just to provide them netflix which they really should have thought about before they bought the place and then spammed the dead out of everyone else whom did their research ?
If so....meh... go away... do your research, your house is cheaper as you do have and will only have ADSL and its no ones fault, least of all the ISP's whom will never make back the tens of thousands to lay fibre and cabinets all the way out to 3 houses earning them £100 a month

Hi Sam
These schemes do, they just take a lot of time. The engineering work for our part of Liphook is just being finalised.
Swish are currently working on our side of Liphook despite us not signing up online. At least we won’t have to shout at the kids to get off their devices so one of us can do a Teams meeting or Zoom call with our cameras on! 😅😂
