Not going to be able to make it as stuck in London. Can this be a forum to also bring up the concerns around the increase in criminal activities that seems to be plaguing the community lately?

Attended the meeting. Very disappointed with the sound could not hear a word of the discussion. Gathered it was about development of the land behind bohunt school. A man was talking about houses but could not hear him . If at last their is progress with developing that land for the benefit of liphook and the national parks people are talking sensible at last it can only be good for liphook. This has been going on to long we Desperately need a relief road between Portsmouth road and longmoor road with access to bohunt school. The situation in the square has become ridiculous the through traffic has increased to way above when the A3 came through. We need to address this and a road around bohunt would be a good start. So if this development can supply this then it gets my vote but if it can’t then NO to it and I think that is the view of the majority of the community. We must strive to save our conservation square the hart of our community. It can be done if all the powers to be work together.

Rather than a relief road, surely what's really needed is for people to use their cars less? Another road will simply result in more traffic in the long run and we'll be no better off in terms of traffic jams - and a lot worse off in terms of overdevelopment and loss of green space.

If wishes were horses beggars would ride. Jen totally agree but after living here all my life 80 plus years there have been no road improvements on all the roads leading into the village let alone new roads. The roads coming into liphook are the same as when used by the stage coaches. Yes you are right people do use cars unnecessarily but people living outside liphook ie Milland rake etc come to Liphook to access the A3 . Even liss traffic comes to Liphook because they can’t get out at ham barn roundabout and so it goes on . People use cars for work not to just bring kids to school deliveries are done by lorries huge lorries and they all have to go through the square . Other places have had the same problem and where possible ring roads have been built to take traffic away from centres now WE have the chance to do the same. We lost out when EHDC let us down by no implementing the road between headly road and longmoor road when they had the chance at the WIMPY site we don’t want this happening again.

Is there anywhere that we can find a fuller description of the discussion at this meeting?

Steve,
All NDP agendas and minutes are on their website (see link to the left) or follow this link

Unfortunately, they do take ages to post the meeting minutes and, to be honest, they aren't exactly detailed. I sometimes wonder if they are trying to hide some things?
