South Downs National Park in Liphook
- Eric Benson (15th Nov 2022 17:13:01)
South Downs National Park faces difficult financial situation
See [a]https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-63623674[t]bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-63623674[c]
On the basis that Bramshott and Liphook parish council now feels that the allocation of an element of additional housing through the SDNP Local Plan can be accommodated within the SDNP area of the parish - see minutes of its meeting on Monday 26th September 2022 at attachment 1 - and in light of the above BBC news story as to SDNP’s possible need for cash, is it not now time that East Hampshire District Council had a sensible and grown-up discussion with the SDNP as to what is seen as the most sensible solution if there is to be additional housing in Liphook under the EHDC’s long-awaited district plan/SDNP’s own planning proposals over the next 10 to 15 years - namely development within the triangle of land bounded by The Links, the Deers Hut and Bohunt School?
For Liphook and its environs just think of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) benefits which will accrue for the village.

All the CIL due for the first tranche of Bordon's redevelopment was allocated to improved infrastructure in Gosport I believe. Don't, for one moment, think that it will be spent in our village

Also, did you see the flooding on Headley Road yesterday? And every day when it rains heavily?
Children walking to school, drenched in splashes from cars. Not the fault of the drivers - many slowed down, but there was just too much surface water.
Shouldn’t the area be sorting its existing infrastructure and services first before adding more on top?
